At Hale Animal Health, we are very particular about what we put in our products. We use premium natural ingredients, carefully chosen for their therapeutic qualities and backed up by data and science.

A lot of the oils and plant extracts in our products are human grade quality and, like good Kiwis, we source all our materials from New Zealand wherever possible.

Blackcurrent oil

Rich in useful omegas such as Gamma-Linoleic-Acid, blackcurrant seed oil is particularly good for your pets skin health. It helps to restore and maintain the skin’s moisture barrier and prevent water loss.


Copper is a vital trace mineral for dogs, assisting with injury recovery, muscle repair and also helps protect against cellular damage.


Cranberry has been shown to aid bladder health by reducing the amount of nasty bacteria in the bladder and therefore keeping it focused on its core function of eliminating toxins from the body. Cranberry also assists dental health by reducing bacteria on the teeth and therefore minimizing tooth decay which can be a common problem especially in older pets.

Flaxseed oil

Our premium NZ made flaxseed oil contains high levels of ALA (Alpha Linolenic Acid) the Omega 3 essential fatty acid. It’s a fatty acid that the body does not produce on its own, hence the benefits of adding it to the diet on a regular basis.

We use cold pressed flaxseed oil which has minimal exposure to heat light and oxygen, ensuring a premium oil with a high nutritional value.

Greenshell Mussel

A pure and natural oil extract from 100% sustainably farmed New Zealand Greenshell mussels. This extract is highly bioavailable, meaning it’s easy for your dog to absorb all the nutrients and benefits. It is rich in Omega 3 fatty acid content, specifically EPA and DHA, and also includes marine phospholipids and sterols which carry additional health benefits, including anti-inflammatory properties.

Kiwifruit seed oil

This superfood contains high levels of antioxidants, enzymes and fibre and also has essential omegas to assist with skin and coat health.

Milk Thistle

Milk thistle is one of the most extensively researched and proven natural remedies. The main benefit of milk thistle is that it aids in the recovery of the liver and kidneys. It helps those organs deal quickly with toxins such as flea treatments, anaesthesia, vaccinations, worm, steroids or any other medicines. Science shows that milk thistle is more effective at assisting the liver if it is already in the system when toxins are absorbed by the animal, meaning a regular intake works best.


Nucleotides are the basic building blocks of DNA. They are essential in the repair and replacement of cells, an increasingly important function as your pet starts to age. Nucleotides also help to promote gut health as younger pets grow and develop.

Olive oil

We use cold pressed extra virgin olive oil, which is a good source of Omega 6 essential fatty acids. When used in the right ratio with other oils it helps provide the optimal amount of fatty acids.


Parsley is a great healthy option for dogs to help freshen their breath. It also provides them with important nutrients as it is rich in Vitamin K, and also contains healthy amounts of vitamin C, A, and iron.


At Hale animal health, we use clinically proven prebiotics and dietary fibre made from fermented cane sugar, which selectively enhances the growth of beneficial microbiota in the gut. Healthy microbiome is known to improve immunity, nutrient absorption, lipid transport and overall digestive and bowel health.

Rosemary extract

Rosemary is a Mediterranean shrub that supports your dog’s heart and digestive health. Rosemary also has excellent antioxidant properties.


Selenium is an essential trace mineral for dogs, required for healthy functioning of the immune system and hormone metabolism. Selenium also has excellent antioxidant properties.

Slippery Elm

Spirulina is another source of Omega 3, however it is different to the Omegas that are found in the oils. These Omegas specifically help with cognitive function, so it supports the brain and keeps the mind sharp. This is especially important as pets get older, a healthy mind helps to keep a healthy body.

Sunflower oil

Sunflower oil an excellent source of omega 6 fatty acids, helping to modulate the immune system and demonstrating excellent benefits to skin and coat health.

Tuna oil

Made from sustainably sourced Tuna from the Pacific Ocean, our Tuna oil is exceptionally high quality and a great source of quality Omega 3 fatty acids EPA and DHA.


Turmeric is a common spice you would find in many kitchens, however perhaps the medicinal benefits are not so well known in the Western world. For centuries Turmeric has been used in Aruvedic medicine in India and related regions, in order to treat inflammation and other diseases. Studies have shown Turmeric can help reduce inflammation and pain in animals. It is also a great antioxidant.

Vitamin E
